1. Cabinet Approvals with Foreign Countries on 2nd July 2019

In her first budget, Nirmala Sitharaman said the govt will consider relaxing FDI in aviation, insurance, single-brand retail. The Narendra Modi government has proposed to corporate tax on companies with turnover up to ₹400 crore reduced to 25%. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first budget of Modi 2.0 government in today. In February's interim budget, the then acting finance minister Piyush Goyal had provided several income tax sops to the middle-class and introduced zero tax liability for those in the ₹5 lakh income bracket.

Online forwarding of Grievances to multiple subordinate offices/Departments. Forwarding of Reminders/Clarifications for the older grievances crossing SLA timelines. This system will have the flexibility to expand at multiple levels as per the requirement of the concerned Department, District /Tehsil administration for desired depth and accurate redressal of grievances. System generated reminders will enable the senior authorities to comply on grievances received with minimum effort and strict action against non-compliances by the concerned officials.

3. SC Directs Meghalaya to deposit 100 Crore as Fine imposed by NGT for Illegal Coal Mining

The Supreme Court Wednesday directed the Meghalaya government to deposit the Rs 100 crore fine imposed on it by the NGT for failing to curb illegal coal mining with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan and K M Joseph directed the state administration to hand over the illegally extracted coal to Coal India Limited (CIL) which will auction it and deposit the funds with the state government.

5. ISRO signed a contract with Russian company Glavkosmos to train Indian astronauts for ‘Gaganyaan’

The Indian Space Research Organisation has signed a contract with a Russian company for selection support, medical examination and space training of Indian astronauts for the country’s proposed maiden manned space mission ‘Gaganyaan’. The contract was signed by Glavkosmos’ first Deputy Director-General, Natalia Lokteva, and Director of the Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC) of ISRO, S. Unnikrishnan Nair, on June 27. Glavkosmos is a Russian launch service provider and a subsidiary of the state corporation Roscosmos.

7. NASSCOM & NSDC launches “World Skills India”-International Cloud Computing Challenge 2019

The initiative is aimed at recognizing the best practices from the world in the areas of cloud computing. The challenge initiated in the presence of the minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey. India along with nine other countries including New Zealand, Belgium, Japan, China, South Korea, Russia, Oman and Ireland are participating in the competition. The finalists further taking part in the 45th World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia which scheduled in August 2019.

8. Tata Steel Kalinganagar included in WEF’s Global Lighthouse Network

Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) has been included in World Economic Forum's (WEF) Global Lighthouse Network, a community of manufacturers showing leadership in applying Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to drive financial and operational impact, a company release said here on Thursday. TSK in Odisha's Jajpur district is the first and the only Indian manufacturing plant to be included in the WEF's Lighthouse Network, it said. The WEF announced the addition of 10 new factories, including TSK, to its Global Lighthouse Network on Wednesday.

9. According to the World Bank data for 2018, India’s turnover ratio fell by 60% in 10 years

10. Punjab & Sind Bank set up centralized hub ‘Cen-MARG’ to process retail and MSME loans

State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank has set up a centralized hub for processing retail and MSME loans for better efficiency of branches in business acquisition. The Centralised MSME & Retail Group (Cen-MARG) will be housed at its head office in New Delhi, the bank in a statement. "The Cen-MARG has been envisioned to ensure qualitative improvement in credit appraisal, improved turnaround time, uniform documentation, and efficient monitoring.

11. Reliance Jio partners with Facebook to launch literacy drive “’ Digital Udaan” for first-time internet users in India

Reliance Jio's 'Digital Udaan' initiative has launched in nearly 200 different locations across 13 states. Jio has worked with Facebook to ensure that modules developed for 'Digital Udaan' are relevant for people. As part of the "Digital Udaan" initiative in collaboration with Facebook, Jio will engage with its users every Saturday to help them learn about JioPhone features, use of various apps and Internet safety including the use of Facebook.

12. Kuwait supports India in countering terror 

Gulf’s resource-rich Kuwait has played a key role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in declaring JeM chief Masood Azhar a global terrorist and earlier an equally important role in UNSC condemnation of Pulwama terror strike. Kuwait that completes its two-year term as the non-permanent member in the UNSC has assured to play an important role in supporting India’s global ambitions including investments. “The Security Council of the United Nations adopted its first ever Kuwaiti proposed draft resolution 2474 in its 8543rd meeting held on June 11, 2019, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah, with the aim of protecting civilians that deals with the matter of persons reported missing during armed conflicts.
