VCAS Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria to be next Chief of the Air Staff

Ministry of Defence has announced to appoint Vice chief of air staff (VCAS) Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria as the next Chief of the Air Staff (CAS). The announcement comes ahead of the retirement of the current Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa will on 30 September 2019. It is expected that RKS Bhadauria will be taking charge on 30 September.


RKS Bhadauria:

Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria is the senior most officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF) after Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa. He was commissioned into the Fighter Stream of IAF in June 1980. He has held various Command including Commanding Officer of Flight Test Squadron at Aircraft & System Testing Establishment, Command of a Jaguar Squadron and a premier Air Force Station, Chief Test Pilot and Project Director of National Flight Test Centre on Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) project, Staff and Instructional appointments at various levels including the present one as Vice Chief of Air Staff.
Bhadauria is experienced with over 4,250 hours on 26 types of fighters and transport aircraft. He has won the Sword of Honour as he stood first in the overall order of merit.
