China unveiled Beijing Daxing International Airport, a futuristic airport, that resembles a giant starfish opened in Beijing. The airport was inaugurated by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.


Beijing Daxing International Airport:

Beijing Daxing International Airport is more than 700,000 square meters of land 45 kilometers south of the Chinese capital. The hub was designed by Iraqi-born architect, before her death in 2016. The airport was built in less than five years after starting construction in late 2014.
The airport is expected to become the world's biggest airport due to the continued economic rise of the Asian powerhouse. It is located 46 kilometres south of Tiananmen Square. The airport will operate with full capacity in 2040. The airport has eight runways and the potential to receive 100 million passengers per year.
