Centre approved construction of 1.23 lakh houses under PMAY Urban scheme
Government has approved the construction of 1.23 lakh more houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) approved for the construction of the housed.
An overall investment of Rs.4,988 crore for the 630 proposals for building the chouses in the participating states was approved by the 47th Central Sanctioning And Monitoring Committee. The commitment from the government as central assistance will be Rs.1,805 crore.
Construction of houses:
The 1.23 lakh includes 27,746 houses for West Bengal, 26,709 house for Tamil Nadu, 20,903 houses for Gujarat, 10,332 houses for Punjab, 10,079 houses for Chhattisgarh, 8,674 houses for Jharkhand, 8,314 houses for Madhya Pradesh, 5,021 houses for Karnataka, 2,822 houses for Rajasthan and 2,501 houses for Uttarkhand.
