The 7th meeting of the UAE India High Level Joint Task Force on Investments.

The 7th meeting of the UAE-India High-Level Joint Task Force on Investments was held on 22 September 2019 in Abu Dhabi. The meeting aimed to review and maintain the significant progress made to enhance bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.


The meeting was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry and Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.

Key Highlights:
  • The meeting aimed at promoting bilateral trade and investments. 
  • The leaders and the officials discussed issues related to the tax treatment of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) wholly owned subsidiaries at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). 
  • India has agreed to give an early consideration and mutually beneficial solution to the issue to facilitate ADIA’s investments in India.
  • They also discussed the bilateral judicial cooperation through the recognition and enforceability of court judgement in both the civil and commercial cases.
The Task Force:

The Task Force was initially established to promote economic ties between the UAE and India. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 2017. The Task Force will now promote and facilitate investments between the two countries and in addressing mutual concerns.
