President Kovind inaugurated 6th India Water Week

The 6th India Water Week -2019 was inaugurated by the President Shri Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi on 24th September. The week is being organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It is being organized since 2012. The international event to focus on water-related issues. So far, 5 editions of India Water Week have been organized.


Theme:

The theme of the 6th India Water Week -2019 is Water cooperation: Coping with 21st Century Challenges. On this regard, India has signed and strengthened its international cooperation with 14 countries including Israel, Canada, Japan, Germany, and the UK.

Participants:

The event was witnessed by various Water Resources Ministers of the Indian States. Over 1500 delegates from India and abroad are participating in this event. It also witnessed 63 delegates from 28 countries. People from reputed National and International Organizations, Research Institutes, Educational Institutions and NGOs from water resources, agriculture, power sectors, etc. are also participating in the event to share their knowledge and experience in the sector.

Events:

The 6th India Water Week -2019 event include Seminars, Brainstorming Sessions, Panel Discussions and Special Session. Also, an Exhibition showcasing the technologies and solutions in the water resources sector is also being organized at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. It is expected that about 60 organizations will be displaying their work in the exhibition.
